BACKGROUND
The Angelic Myth which forms the basis of Savia's world.
When the angels rebelled against Metatron's tyranny, they descended upon the Earth that man walked upon. They called upon those who could hear their rallying cry to create three artifacts of immense power to be kept inert until the seal that keeps heaven, earth and hell separated weakens (known as the Finalis Mobile). These artifacts were meant to give the humanity whom the angels loved so much a chance against the celestial forces.
The Constantin family was involved with the creation of the Glory Regalia, a manifestation of the "Creator's Glory" held in place by a fragment of Lucifer's power. It is meant to represent balance, androgyny and embodiment. The Creator's Glory is the untold joy of inspiration and the spark upon which genesis occurs from. The physical form of the Glory Regalia is that of a halo of light which can be carried and manipulated as if it were a physical object, which Savia wears around her wrist as a bracelet.
The daughter of the inventor Anselm Constantin and his wife Sella, Savia has always been in contact with the Glory Regalia ever since she was a child. Her family was tasked with the Regalia's upkeep but since it had been thousands of years, the details of what the Regalia did was lost to time. Deeming the Regalia largely decorative and for show (like most of Savia's creations at the time), Savia was allowed to keep the Regalia even when she left the family home.
She started her business Starry Sky in the city of Ventus in her desperation to leave home. Forever believing she's in the shadow of her father, Savia turns her considerable talents to making decorative trinkets and minor amusements. Overlooked by most of the world (not that it bothered her too much at this point having spent 20 odd years being overlooked), Savia whiles her days living a fairly charmed life for herself.
One day, the Regalia started glimmering with light. In all the time she's had it, it's never done anything like that.
The next day, she saw a flash of light in the sky and her head felt like it was going to split in two. She passed out on the floor of her workshop, twitching and fitful as she experienced vision after vision of the sealing of heaven.
When she came to, she was being nursed in her own bed by a man who introduced himself as Raphael.
Raphael begged for her help in restoring the Regalia to its former glory, as Metatron was beginning his assault into earth to enact what he believed his vision of heaven was. Savia is reluctant to help him, until she looks in a mirror and sees that she is no longer human but rather feeling the effects of her partial transformation into an angel. This finally lends weight to Raphael’s words as he sheds his human form to reveal his angelic form and he dubs Savia’s angelic form Salvation.
He tells her everything she needs to know - the history of the regalia, and what she needs to do to prevent Metatron’s assault. He trains her in controlling the regalia’s power, at least enough so she can figure out what to do. Savia discovers that not only can she transform into Salvation, but she can mimic angelic forms - if only in form alone.
Every transformation takes a toll on her sanity. At first she is reckless when she encounters the various Virtues and Demons which start attacking Earth, transforming into Salvation without much care. However, she starts hallucinating enemies that aren’t there and ends up killing a man by accident, thinking he was a Virtue that learned human speech. When she realises what she’s done, she breaks down and ends up going on a rampage in which she completely loses control over herself and the lines between her angelic power and her human self break down.
She is eventually calmed down by Ishtar, a nurse who subdues her. During the first few days of caring for her, Savia is unaware of anything particularly different until she realises that Ishtar is no ordinary nurse. After confronting her, she reveals she was trained by Raphael and was tasked to find Savia. Ishtar teaches her how to anchor herself to the world around her and how to interact with her angelic form properly. Ishtar then assigns herself as Savia’s caretaker and takes residence in Starry Sky.
Starry Sky transforms into their ground zero for fighting against the angelic and demonic assaults. Savia is the muscle while Ishtar is the recon. It's not exactly how either of them envisioned their lives going but those with this sort of power are not allowed to live quiet lives.
The assaults from heaven and hell are steady, small platoons of minor angels and demons whom Savia clears out with relative ease. Ishtar guides her through every fight as she is the one voice Savia can still hear clear while the whole world blurs around her.
Savia clears enough of heaven's forces that Metatron wishes to see Savia himself, but is unable to breach the seal between Heaven and Earth still. So he cheats and talks to Savia through her dreams. He realises quickly that the only reason that he is able to do so is he figures out that the Creator's Glory is actually tapping into the eternity beyond heaven, hell and earth called Ein Sof, the infinite vastness. Savia is able to repel Metatron as she realises the exact same thing because Metatron kinda did the whole monologuing thing in Savia's dream like the pompous ass that he is.
Once she repels Metatron's invasion of her mind, Savia is finally able to awaken the Creator's Glory and wield it while still keeping her mind together. The damage is done and she still is patching up herself together, but at this point in her story she is able to continue to defend the world she lives in with Ishtar by her side.
